This year’s Christmas Meeting of the Branch Board with representatives of the Circles and invited guests was unique for several reasons. First of all, after a two-year break caused by the coronavirus pandemic, we finally managed to meet
before Christmas with a larger group of colleagues from our Department, spend a nice time, talk, wish each other personally. In addition, the Christmas meeting was attended by exceptionally many distinguished guests and friends of the Association. The meeting took place on December 12, 2022 at the Kolejarza House of Culture at ul. St. Philip.
The meeting was attended by 60 people, they were representatives of the authorities of the Branch with Mrs. President Józefa Majerczak at the helm, the Chairman of the Branch and the most active members in the last year – representatives of the Circles operating in the Branch.
The President warmly welcomed all the guests, expressing her joy at the joint meeting, and then presented a handful of data on the activities and initiatives undertaken by the Branch and its members in the years 2021-2022 in a multimedia presentation. The branch is very dynamic, there is a lot going on, not only scientific and technical events are organized, such as conferences or seminars, but also integrating, cultural and many other events. Members are very active and inventive in taking up and implementing new, interesting challenges.
During the gala dinner, with traditional Christmas Eve dishes, the gathered shared the wafer, wishing each other sincere Christmas and New Year’s wishes. In the official part of the meeting, the following spoke: Governor Łukasz Kmita, First Deputy Governor Ryszard Pagacz, Honorary President of SITK prof. Wiesław Starowicz, Dean of WIL prof. Andrzej Szarata, President of SARP Bohdan Lisowski and Treasurer of MOIIB Filip Pachla. The guests expressed their thanks for the invitation, emphasized the role played by our Association in the city, region and country, they also expressed thanks for the excellent cooperation, they also conveyed Christmas and New Year’s greetings to the gathered.
The musical setting of the meeting in the form of beautiful Christmas carols and pastorals was provided by colleagues: Marek Błeszyński and Konrad Gawłowski, supported by the Presidents of the Ramatech company.
Before the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to receive a book recently published by the Branch entitled “About the turn after the turn”, which was signed by its originator and author, col. Jerzy Hydzik.
At the end of this nice Christmas meeting, the ward angel in the person of Anna Karpierz gave all the participants Christmas gifts, including ward calendars, Christmas chocolates, SITK notebooks and winter teas.
